Old Lou Zegusi wanted to inspect the liver spots on his face. He looked at himself in a small mirror hanging on the wall. He was about six feet away. Within the frame of the mirror, his reflection showed his face from the top of his head to the tip of his chin. Wanting a closer look, Lou moved to about a foot away from the mirror. Remarkably, his reflection was the same. Full frame, it showed his face from the top of his head to the tip of his chin.

Solution to Micro Softy 48:  The Pusher 

First, here’s the puzzle again: When Freddy the Mooch gets out of jail, he pushed his small car to a location near the jail and pays the property owner some cash. Next, he pushes his car to a house and pays the owner an even larger amount. Dejected, he then pushes his car to a hotel. It costs him more here than it did for the first two stops combined. He’s now almost broke. So he pushes his car to a small house that he owns where he is able to stay for a while and relax.

What’s the story here? Why is Freddy pushing his car from place to place and paying people money?

If you sensed a bit of misdirection about what was really happening, you’re right.

Answer: He was playing the board game Monopoly.
