The fourth and final tranche of COSM 2023 videos is now available — featuring topics such as how advances in artificial intelligence may affect automobile transportation, solutions to the vast amounts of energy artificial intelligence will require, and why we might be on the brink of seeing the most disruptive innovations the world has ever seen.

If you weren’t able to attend, or perhaps you want to revisit some of your favorite speakers, take a look at our COSM 2023 playlist on YouTube!

A few highlights of the recently released videos:

  • Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, tells COSM 2023, “We are at the threshold of the most disruptive period for innovation that the world has ever seen.” She then goes into five different innovation platforms — public blockchain, multiomic sequencing, energy storage, robotics, and artificial intelligence — that are evolving together, an event she explains hasn’t happened since the telephone, electricity, and the internal combustion engine transformed the world in the early 1900s. What are the implications of this new evolution in innovation?

  • Mark Mills (Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute) opens a discussion on energy by saying that AI is “the single most energy-intensive use of silicone ever devised.” How will we meet this energy need? Todd Myers (Director of the Washington Policy Center’s Center for the Environment) and Michael Shellenberger (author of Apocalypse Never) explore what reasonable and pragmatic energy solutions might look like.

  • Millions are killed every year in automobile accidents around the world. There is lots of talk that AI can reduce the number of automobile accidents and fatalities. Bryan Mistele (CEO of INRIX), Rich Pople (Director of General Motors’ AI and ML Center), Dorothy Li (Founder of Luminent AI), and Mark Masongsong (Co-Founder and CEO of Urbanlogiq) explore this and many other ways AI can revolutionize automobile transportation.

You can also watch backstage interviews, in which Senior Fellow Jay Richards goes into greater depth with several speakers on the topics addressed onstage.

Please save the date for COSM 2024:  October 31-November 1 in Bellevue, Washington!

COSM is an exclusive national summit on the converging technologies remaking the world as we know it. The mission of the conference is to stimulate debate and deliberation amongst industry leaders on the unities animating these apparently divergent technology areas. Held at the Bellevue Hyatt, the summit illuminates the synergy between Seattle and the world and provides a scene of civilized conversation and exchange.

COSM 2024 will be the TOPOCOSM: exploring the new science of technology, the theory of spaces and places, and the technological transformation it is ushering in to a mostly baffled and indifferent world.
